Highland Park is melting, but I have complete faith that it will freeze again overnight.
You may remember this photo from earlier in the month.
I was going to the fridge for leftover pizza this morning, and I saw the same tree with a sheen of ice on it. By the time it occurred to me to take a picture it was this afternoon, and the ice had gone. Fortunately, I was able to catch the ice water dripping off the branches.
Winter is quite beautiful; I’m accumulating winter photos here; I should have more next week if I’m able to get any pictures in DC that aren’t ugly urban muddy slush. (I’ll bring the camera anyway, as I need some photoreference for a painting.)
Here in town, the snow is melting; despite a spill on the ice yesterday, it’s quite bikeable now if one is careful.
